Fabian Panisello. A Portrait
“The musical career of Fabián Panisello (Buenos Aires, 1963) is largely a reflection of his life itinerary: from the Buenos Aires where he was born and trained, to the Salzburg of the Mozarteum and the Madrid of thriving musical creativity where he lives today.
The teachings of Francisco Kröpfl and later those of Boguslaw Schaeffer, Elliot Carter, Franco Donatoni, Brian Ferneyhough and Luis de Pablo, have given composer Panisello the vantage point from which to contemplate the century. for his part, the conductor Panisello was born with Peter Eötvös, has formed his own group – the PluralEnsemble – and has worked closely with Luciano Berio and Karlheinz Stockhausen, in the premiere of whose Hoch-Zeiten he participated as co-director. […]
When he won the Rodolfo Halffter Prize for composition, the jury found in his work both “technical soundness” and “personal language”, a rare mixture that well defines Panisello’s music. All the notes that come together on this album have a solid (and always brilliant) structural reason for being where they are and, at the same time, reach the listener with a musical naturalness that requires no explanations […].”
